more Simple Summer Pleasures...

Love my Fridays...this time, no doctor appointments scheduled, so the girls and I just hung out at the house all day cleaning and playing. Mom and Pa came over so I could help my mom work on some things for her nursing class reunion this September. But as soon as Jay came home, I demanded that we go do something...anything...I was aching for some fresh air. So we drove to Carlsbad beach. Since we had no idea where we were going, we had no towels or bathing suits, so we just took off our slippers (most of us) and walked on the sand.

For some reason, Sofia was NOT going to put her feet in the sand. I guess she doesn't like the way sand feels between her toes. But Ava couldn't wait to get in. These pictures totally capture the mood...Sofia clinging to me so that her feet wouldn't get wet and Ava just going for it. There was a point where Jay and Ava were in the water and all I saw was a wave come in that literally knocked Ava off her feet...she went in the water in her street clothes! All I could do was laugh because she seemed to be loving it and wanted to do it again. So here is my little Coppertone baby! Eventually Sofia saw how much fun Ava was having and decided to "dig" right in. We didn't stay for long because it was getting cold, but it was nice to utilize my senses and see, hear, smell and feel the beach again.

Great pictures Joce! It looks like you all had a great time. Love the naked Coppertone baby :) I'm glad Sofia finally gave in and enjoyed the beach.

Thanks for saying prayers for Jeb's dad - means a lot. Love you!
