Week in the Life: Wednesday Words + Photos

1. Google's home page for this week: Invention of the Bar Code

2. Even less sleep today: had to wake up extra early to take Sofia to Book Fair Breakfast

3. I miss Ava

4. Book Fair Breakfast included yummy muffins and Peet's Coffee! Had two large cups of it.

5. Sofia was so overwhelmed in the book fair. It was a mad house.

6. Got to work: email awaiting me from ME: not coming in today, going to work from home. (Smile because it means she really has faith in my ability to take care of business)

7. Went to an FHA Loans training seminar. Love learning.

8. After 3 attempts, Myra and I finally made time to meet up for lunch. Turns out her building is directly across the street from mine.

9. Myra treated me to P.F. Changs. Yum. My favorite was the crispy green beans.

10. Great rest of the day at work. Got lots done.

11. Heard the word VIGILANT a lot today!

12. BB messaged Jenny to ask how she liked the Ali Edwards class. Still on the fence.

13. Jay called to tell me that he was going to surprise Sofia by taking her to a movie today: the Meatball cartoon.

14. Thought I'd have a lot of time to kill before Faith Formation class at church. Thanks to traffic, I only had time to grab a Starbucks.

15. Met very nice moms at class. I thought I wouldn't be focused, but I was really into it.

16. The whole theme of class was about our image of God.

17. At some point in the class, I jumped off the fence: decided I wanted to do the Ali class and document my story -- it's worth having my children know about.

18. When getting dressed this morning, I debated about donating this jacket to Goodwill. Today, I got three compliments on it! One lady literally said "I want to rip that jacket off you and keep it." What?!!!

19. Home sweet home. Sofia asleep. Jay asleep.

20. I guess because of the late coffee this evening, I'm wired right now. Watched Glee (twice)...and I think I vote for the boys this time!

Week in the Life: Tuesday Words + Photos

1. One of those mornings when I realized I fell asleep in the girls' room with my work clothes on.

2. Morning routine went smoothly. Even had a few minutes to chat with the neighbor outside.

3. I think we went to the new Target last night because both girls had new clothes hanging in their closet. Ava actually wore pants today -gasp-

4. La la la.....red lights....shoot...major traffic on the freeway.

5. "Mom, I have a joke...why are math books so sad? Because they have lots of problems"

6. Reminders all over school about Book Fair week.

7. Love my new co-workers. We had a discussion this morning about what areas might be the most welcoming for a bi-racial family. We decided that anywhere in San Diego is awesome!

8. Mary Ellen and I went to downtown to check out our new listing.

9. Lunch on the boss: Kitima in Hillcrest.

10. Sad that Ava will be spending the night at Grandma & Grandpa for the rest of the week. I miss her already!

11. Watched the SNL skit making fun of Obama not accomplishing anything. Laughed. Although the actor isn't as convincing as Tina Fey as Sarah Palin.

12. Sofia read to me tonight.

13. I really am Blessed! Thank you, God!

1. It was a blur.

Week in the Life: Sunday Words + Photos

1. Gloomy outside

2. Another long day away from home.

3. Changed my outfit 3 times because of the temperature. Settled on jeans, dark blue long sleeve, brought jersey to wear later.

4. Sofia: "Mom, I don't want to wear a Chargers jersey, I like my Wizards shirt better"

5. Exited Via De La Valle. Started feeling funny because I was in my old 'hood for work.

6. Spent the morning at Norma's house while Jay did computer stuff. The girls and I practiced handwriting in our journals purchased at Disneyland the night before, drank coffee and played a little bit of golf in her backyard.

7. A trip through McDonalds drive through on Del Mar Heights. Didn't know it was a "bistro" thingamajig.

8. Went to visit Jay's parents for the afternoon. Always a spread waiting for us when we arrive.

9. Had the deepest, most restful nap I've ever had!

10. Grossmont Center was like a ghost town. Bought a pair of running shoes for Sofia.

11. Home Sweet Home

12. Chargers Game....no comment...

13. Laundry.

14. Wiped out!

Week in the Life: Saturday Words + Photos

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

1. Woke up very well rested. First evening I wore sweats to bed in a long time. Must mean that it's fall.

2. Sofia must have been very well rested too: She woke me up by asking (with a huge smile on her face): "Mom, are we going to Pino-Pino class today?"

3. Ava runs into bedroom naked and screams "Good morning" then runs away. I can hear Jay running the water to give her a bath.

4. Love my husband for letting me sleep in.

5. Coffee and my breakfast of choice lately: toast with peanut butter.

6. As I was getting the girls dressed for the day, Jay and I realize that they have very few pairs of pants that fit them anymore (time to go shopping)

7. Off to Filipino class at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Note to self: it's always cold in the classroom, leave early and bring Starbucks next week.

8. We learned how to say the sign of the cross in Filipino (never knew that Filipino, not Tagalog, is the official language of the Philippines) Sa ngalan ng Ama, ng Anak at ng Espiritu Santo. Amen

9. During class, special guest singer from the Philippines Charmaine Clamor came to sing with us, Sofia got her autograph.

10. During class Sofia had an outburst because the teacher chose Mom instead of her to play "Lola" in a skit. She and I had a major discussion in the car afterwards.

11. Got home and Jay and I decided it was a good day to go to Disneyland. Not too hot.

12. Ate lunch at Manila Harbor, then went to Best Buy to buy a printer for Jay to install for someone the next day.

13. Made another donation at Goodwill drop off in Encinitas.

14. Fell asleep on the drive up to Disneyland

15. Saw red forever. It was Gay Day at Disneyland. Overheard a conversation while waiting in line for Finding Nemo. This guy apparently knows Kristin Chenowith and was talking about how if it weren't for her being Glinda in Wicked, that role would have been much smaller than it was. I was so bummed when the line moved and I couldn't eavesdrop anymore.

16. Again in the same Finding Nemo line, I had a "FIGHT FOR JUSTICE" moment and I am very proud of myself.

17. The girls both wanted watermelon as a snack at Disneyland. They sure are easy to please.

18. Two more rides, a trip to Emporium, and we were home bound.

19. We were bad: had Taco Bell for dinner. Note to self: the quesadillas come with sauce that the kids don't like.

20. What Disneyland trip would be the same without a stop at Starbucks off of Ortega Highway. Trying to be frugal, so it's been a long time since I've had my Pike's Place. I finished every drop.

21. Pandora is so cool, even when listening to the girls' music. Why do I like Miley Cyrus so much?

22. First to fall asleep in the car: Sofia. Ava not too long afterwards.

23. Home sweet home. Thinking to myself: I have a lot of cleaning to do tomorrow.
